Palo Duro Canyon State Park is south of Amarillo, TX. We spent several nights in the park camping in the Spring. It was very warm then, but still pleasant, especially in the morning and evening. I'm sure it is brutally hot in the Summer. The Palo Duro Canyon is called the Grand Canyon of Texas and is called by many the second largest canyon in the US. The park is a great place to hike and ride bikes on trails. It also has lots of wildlife and flowers, especially birds and seasonal wildflowers in the Spring.
