Guadalupe Mountains National Park
Guadalupe Mountains National Park is in northwest Texas near the border with New Mexico. It is primarily a hiking destination. We did not see as much wildlife as in other parks. We did see birds, lizards, and deer. We also saw the prints and scat of other animals, so we know there is more wildlife in the park.

As the trail returns to the origin trailhead a backward look at the mountains reveals a ridge that contains the Frijole trail. That trail transverses the mountain from right to left and returns to the campground area. That is a trail for another day.
