Guadalupe Mountains National Park
Guadalupe Mountains National Park is in northwest Texas near the border with New Mexico. It is primarily a hiking destination. We did not see as much wildlife as in other parks. We did see birds, lizards, and deer. We also saw the prints and scat of other animals, so we know there is more wildlife in the park.

The dead tree photo has been way overdone and is the bane of serious photographers. However, I included this one to show how trees and wood in gerneral can last for many years in the desert. Trees in wetter forests can decay in a relatively short 50-100 years. This one even has moss growing on the north side.
