Chief Joseph and Beartooth Scenic Highways

From Cody, WY you can take a scenic drive through much of the Chief Joseph and Beartooth Highways. It is an amazing drive closed a lot of the time due to weather. It was an all day drive from Cody and looping through northern Wyoming into Montana and back down to Cody.

Some of these wildflowers do not even spend the engergy to bloom for the first seven years of their growth. The growing season is so short and the conditions so harsh at this elevation that they need to build up strength and energy to even bloom for the first time.
