Bardstown KY Bourbon Trail
Photos from two of the bourbon distilleries on the Bourbon Trail, Willett and Maker's Mark. There is lots to do in Bardstown, KY, including local eateries, modest museums, a state park in the center of town, and lots of distilleries within a short drive. There is also a dinner train that serves lunch and dinner on certain days. Reservations are recommended. The train winds along a path that goes by several distilleries, a national forest, historic landmarks, and across the only surviving wooden trellis from the Civil War.

Tours of distillaries on the Bourbon Trail vary by distiller. We expected a small group based on the small gravel parking lot outside the visitor's center. The Willitt distillery tour started and ended with their visitors center/gift shop. There is a modest charge but it is free to some groups. They asked if I was retired military and I answered I was retired and I was in the military so they said we were free. There were only about 8 people on the tour the day we went.
